Philosophies and Guidelines 1. Treat other players with respect. 2. No Griefing, Ganking, Corpse Camping etc… 3. We believe in Corporate Regiments loyalty (do not join other Corporate Regiments on our server) 4. No restrictions on age, race, class, level, or alts 5. Use appropriate language. 6. While role-playing, use language appropriate to my character's personality only so far as to entertain, never to demean. 7. Do not use sexual explicit or derogatory language. 8. Do not comment on Religion or Politics. 9. Corporate Regiments rank is based upon contributions, not level 10. Casual, hardcore, always on, sometimes on, lives in the US or lives somewhere else: All players are welcome. 11. Have fun! Philosophies and Guidelines 1. Treat other players with respect. We always treat all personnel and guests in our community with respect. Treating others with respect includes; listening to others opinions, keeping your word, being considerate and honorable, being fair and tolerant, and generally remembering "The Golden Rule" or "treat others as you would like to be treated." We do not publicly complain about or demean our Corporate Regiments brothers or sisters. Remember the rule "Praise in public, criticize in private." In such instances that you feel slighted by anyone in the Corporate Regiments due to their actions, attitude or demeanor, please address your concerns to the offending member through private channels. If they ignore your attempt to settle the dispute, please contact a member of the Corporate Regiments Command Staff starting with your Commanding Officer for mediation. Corporate Regiments officials accept mediation as one of their primary duties. 2. No Griefing, Ganking, Corpse Camping etc… Concepts such as griefing, ganking, corpse camping, etc. are not what Tri-Corp is about. What we are about is good competitive PvP as designed by the game mechanics, i.e. if he's hot (red), and you're feeling frisky have at it. 3. We believe in Corporate Regiments loyalty (do not join other Corporate Regiments on our server) Players should not be joining any other Corporate Regiments on the server we play on. In the case PvP is based upon Corporate Regiments ownership of battlekeeps and such, meaning that being in another Corporate Regiments on the server is a conflict of interest. We also want a Corporate Regiments that enjoys each other’s company and is a close group of friends, no matter how big we get. This will make us a strong Corporate Regiments and make it a better environment. A strong Corporate Regiments is made up of loyal personnel that help each other out. Only exception are Alliance Corporate Regiments whom we have a confirmed treaty with and only under certain circumstances as advised by the Consul. (Ambassador) 4. No restrictions on age, race, class, level, or alts This partially goes hand-in-hand with Corporate Regiments loyalty. We gladly welcome any alts or friends. Your race, class (in game and out) does not matter. We will not impose any level restrictions either. This cuts out grouping within the Corporate Regiments quite a bit and is a pointless rule. We welcome all. There are no age restrictions, however the individual must meet a certain level of maturity. 5. Use appropriate language. Swearing is certainly not totally forbidden in the Corporate Regiments; however please watch your language when dealing with other players. It is all too easy, and at times understandable, when you resort to cussing as the tempers flare, or when frustration has you wanting to go into a Tylenol coma. This is especially true in Vent, as voice chatting is much more spontaneous than other forms of conversation. We've all been there, and we've all done it. We are not talking about the camaraderie that we've all encountered, but rather a situation where you can’t form a sentence without dropping a few of "F bombs" and a few other colorful adjectives. Please always try to be respectful of others, and be mindful of those around you. Note: If you are on the receiving end of such an outburst, either directly or indirectly, and know it to be an isolated incident or uncommon given the source, we ask that you simply let it go.
6. While role-playing, use language appropriate to my character's personality only so far as to entertain, never to demean. Basically, if you are a Imperial Agent that doesn't much care for Bounty Hunters [and who would blame you], we're not going to stop you from getting an edge in your voice around your own antagonists, even to the extent of being curt or even downright rude in certain cases. However, please ensure that this is all in good, healthy fun. Note: It is also important to point out in such cases, that we must all have a good solid sense of humor, and not take things too personally. Treat all comments as a good source of camaraderie and fun unless it's taken to level that pushes past common sense. 7. Do not use sexual explicit or derogatory language. Sexual language is, any comment that could be considered sexist or derogatory toward a specific gender, or any comment that refers to a sexual act. Regardless how innocent the comment, there are some who will still find them offensive. We do not in any way condone use of sexual innuendos or comments, in the Corporate Regiments-chat, on forums, or in any of the chat channels within the game. Note: Flirtatious behavior is an act between two adults that are both consenting and having a bit of fun. We of course encourage this type of camaraderie, and if those involved are known to take it to an extreme at times, this is all part of a healthy environment; as long as the boundaries are not crossed and the parties are not made to feel uncomfortable. If parties must continue this they may only do it in private i.e. Private housing (When intimated), etc… 8. Do not comment on Religion or Politics. It has been my experience that debates on either of these two topics cannot be discussed without reverting to name-calling, flaming, and often time’s fistfights. Furthermore, many are likely to find even the most harmless comments, on these topics, offensive. Consider this your warning that we do not allow comments or discussions of any kind concerning the real-life topics of religion or politics. Tri-Corp full of ale swilling, bar brawling, politically incorrect individuals. We are also jovial, light hearted and fun loving individuals that enjoy giving and receiving a good ribbing. Those that join our ranks should be thick-skinned with the ability to be quick witted and also allow things to slide. If someone makes a personal attack on your religion, your loved ones, your pets, your taste in liquor, food, games, women, men, clothes, or your sexual orientation, it is your duty as a Corporate Regiments Member to interpret their remarks as good-natured ribbing. You must assume their puns to be friendly poking, unless in explicit terms they leave no uncertainty as to their intent (i.e. "I'm not kidding around here") In the eyes of Tri-Corp, those who take offense to those who did not mean any harm and refuse to forgive are ALWAYS in the wrong. Now, if the person who offended you did NOT sincerely apologize, this should be reported to a Corporate Regiments Command Staff. If at any time you do feel that you are being scrutinized unfairly, pressured, ridiculed or treated in a manner that goes beyond what we have described above, please seek out a member of the Corporate Regiments Command Staff Officials and report the incident to them. Arbitration among personnel is one of the first duties of your Corporate Regiments Officials; and we will notify the individual(s) and put a stop to the behavior immediately. It's important to always remember that our community is a diverse group and what one finds funny another may not; but nevertheless, we feel confident that those of the Corporate Regiments Personnel are good natured fun loving people that at heart would not mean any harm in the humor they use, and are only trying for a laugh. REMEMBER: Once again -- Someone harassing or persecuting you is an ENTIRELY different matter, and will be handled accordingly. We have a zero tolerance policy towards malicious behavior and it will be dealt with swiftly. 9. Corporate Regiments rank is based upon contributions, not level The people who end up getting promoted within the Corporate Regiments are going to be those that earn it by doing everything they can to help the Corporate Regiments. Whether you do it by crafting, teaching, helping, participation, etc. does not matter. Contribute what you can and take what you need. Return the kindness of others. We would like to be a self-sufficient Corporate Regiments that spends its money and resources within the Corporate Regiments as much as possible. Again, this builds our strength and unity as a Corporate Regiments. Those that make the Corporate Regiments stronger are those who go up in rank, not the power levelers. People that always refuse to and do not contribute will not move up. 10. Casual, hardcore, always on, sometimes on, lives in the US or lives somewhere else: All players are welcome. Though we would prefer that everybody wanted to and could play often, it is not a requirement. Players will only be kicked out if they have been inactive for a long time. At this point there is no set time. Please let us know of any extended absences that will last 2 weeks or more though, so we don’t wonder or worry. At some point we will probably set a time period for kicking inactive personnel, but a month will be the lowest I ever envision it. Being active on the forums despite not being able to play does count as being on. Though we welcome all, English is this Corporate Regiment's language. You don't have to be fluent but you do need to be able to communicate. Leadership: Decisions rest with the leadership, advisors, officers, with input from the personnel. We will try to do everything as democratically as possible. We want to please everybody, but it’s not always an option. We also do not want decisions to be too slow. Due to this there may be limited time for input and the leaders will have to make some autocratic decisions. Loot Rules: When Tri-Corp personnel are in pick up groups they are expected to show respect for the other players and remember that they are representing Corporate Regiments and hence, act accordingly. In all Corporate Regiments runs, normal loot rules apply. Pass on all, Bid on Piece items, discuss and /roll if necessary. Greed all, Bid on everything items, if a class Bid on everything item drops, and no one in the group needs, please send it to a Tax Collector or the Quartermaster so they may place it in Corporate Regiments Bank. All materials picked up during a Corporate Regiments run should be distributed fairly amongst personnel or sent to the appropriate bank. Just remember Need before Greed, you may not need a dropped item but one of your brothers or sisters may. Have fun! It may seem like we are an overly serious Corporate Regiments with all these guidelines, however this is not the case. Every guideline is in place to promote the Corporate Regiment’s strength and unity. Our main goal is to enjoy the game and the company of our Corporate Regiments mates. Above all else, you must feel comfortable and truly enjoy being in the Corporate Regiments. Relax, kick back, and enjoy. If you made it to this point, read everything, and are still interested, chances are you will fit in very well with us. First of all, Tri-Corp holds gamers who are patient and mature in high esteem. This means that we admire people who are respectful of other people, generally speaking those who do not discriminate the beliefs, opinions, or lifestyles of others. We dislike people who are immature, speak hateful things, and are generally "loud mouthed" about topics or opinions that they do not believe in. Second, we like people who are fun to play with, meaning that the person can play a game and not get overly aggressive to the point of continuous hateful language and swearing. Since we too are gamers, we know what it's like when things get competitive. However, it is always nice to play with people who, even when under stressful conditions, are able to talk to their teammates and keep their cool. Third, although this is generally not necessary, we admire gamers who are skillful, but at the same time do not treat others with disrespect because of it. Even if you are not good at a particular game or genre, we will accept you if you play regularly within the Corporate Regiments and aim to increase your skills. We do not talk trash to our opponents, and rarely talk trash even if our opponents do so. |
